Happiness Bar & After Party

We have a few last minute announcements:

We will be having a Happiness Bar! For those who do not know what a Happiness Bar is, it is kinda like the Genius Bar at the Apple Store. We will have experts available to help you with specific problems you might be facing. Come ask a few questions or sit down with a professional and go through each issue. Bring your laptops!

We are having an after party! Plan to make your way to Geekdom after WordCamp San Antonio for the official WordCamp San Antonio taco dance party! There will be drinks (including Alamo Beer), street tacos, a photo booth, a DJ, and plenty of camaraderie from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

We look forward to seeing all of you on Saturday!

Thanks,

-Organizing Committee

Important Parking Information

We have been instructed by Texas A&M to have these parking permits displayed on all attendee’s vehicles. In order to prevent your vehicle from being ticketed, we will have volunteers standing out in the parking lot with a stack of permits to place on your cars. To help with this task, please print out this parking permit and lay it on your dashboard or under your windshield wipers once you park on campus that morning. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Pressable is sponsoring WCSATX

Pressable is pleased to announce our sponsorship of WordCamp San Antonio 2016. As San Antonio’s managed WordPress hosting company, we are excited to support Central Texas’ biggest WordPress community event as organizers, speakers and sponsors of WordCamp San Antonio 2016.

It takes several ingredients to make a successful WordCamp: a passionate local community, engaged sponsors, dedicated volunteers and a slate of compelling topics, to name a few. WordCamp San Antonio 2016 has all of these ingredients and more. Our COO, Jeff Mulholland, has experienced this first hand as an organizer of WordCamp San Antonio 2016.

We are thrilled to have three of our team members presenting on a variety of engaging topics. Our CEO, Chris Lauzon, will share how the WordPress community can help new WordPress users overcome inevitable challenges. WordPress Support Technician Zach Charo will draw on his experience as a plugin reviewer to show how anyone can review a plugin or theme for their own blog. Finally, Claudia Charbel, our Director of Sales and Partnerships, will demonstrate how disengaged customers can be turned into promoters using real-life examples. We’re looking forward to catching these sessions, as well as several others, at WordCamp San Antonio 2016.

WordCamps are great opportunities to build connections with other community members. This is why we’re sponsoring an after party for all WordCamp San Antonio 2016 attendees. We’ll wrap up WordCamp San Antonio 2016 at Geekdom with a night of dancing, all-you-can-eat street tacos, local craft beer courtesy of Alamo Brewery, a WordPress photo booth and plenty of comradery. It’ll be an after party you won’t want to miss!

No WordCamp experience would be complete without a collection of WordPress swag, so we’ll have a Texas-sized collection of custom WordCamp San Antonio 2016 goodies available at the Pressable table. Look for our orange banner in the sponsor’s area, where you’ll find unique t-shirts, stickers, and temporary tattoos created just for the event. We’ll see you at Texas A&M San Antonio on October 22!

Who should attend?

Everyone! No really, everyone! The event is on Saturday October 22nd, 2016 and will be a full-day of workshops, networking, and previewing new products and services from our sponsors (while grabbing cool stickers and t-shirts). Even if you don’t like any of those things, you get a cool t-shirt, swag bag full of goodies, and lunch for only $20.

Do I have to be a coder to get something out of the sessions?

Absolutely not! We will have three tracks: Beginner, Business, and Advanced, so no matter what skill level you are at, we have something for you. View our schedule to see the topics in each track.

Show me your references!

Not a problem! We had the inaugural WordCamp San Antonio last year and the community response was better than we could’ve ever asked for. Take a look at what people had to say:

Hot off the press

Check out this great article from the Rivard Report on the success of WordCamp 2015.

But it’s kind of far for me to drive.

We know, but Texas A&M University is a beautiful campus, and only a short drive from downtown San Antonio! Our schedule gives you a nice window in the morning (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.) to get to the campus and get checked in, and the event will be done by 6 p.m. which gives you plenty of time to hit downtown for dinner. Plus: what else do you have to do on a Saturday? Come enjoy the fun!

Ok, I’m in!

First things first, grab a ticket here.

Then follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and join our San Antonio WordPress Meetup Group to keep up with the latest WordCamp news and updates.
